Filtering of atheist websites

I was recently in China for business and was amazed at how many atheist sites were blocked, including this site, as well as the vast majority of religious sites.  If you are curious about what sites are banned, check out:

Surely we wouldn't be guilty of this kind of censorship in the United States.  However, many Christian administrators, such as ones at the Tempe Union High School District, have no problem blocking atheist sites, e.g., www.thinkatheist.com, while passing on Christian sites, e.g., www.christianitytoday.com.  Evidently, atheism is harmful to young minds, so censorship is clearly appropriate.
