Atheist group targets presidential candidates' faith with billboards

As a member of American Atheists, I'm glad to see that my donations are going to a good cause.

From CNN:

A prominent atheist group is using this month's Democratic National Convention to take aim at the presidential candidates' religion, planning to put up billboards targeting Mormonism and Christianity in Charlotte, North Carolina during the week of the convention there.
“Our political system is rife with religion and it depends too much on religion and not enough on substance," said David Silverman, the president of American Atheists, which is sponsoring the ads.
"Religion is silly and religion has components that are inherently divisive… there is no place for any of that in the political system,” he said.
The billboard targeting Christianity, which is President Barack Obama's religion, features the image of Jesus Christ on toast and this description of the faith: "Sadistic God; Useless Savior, 30,000+ Versions of ‘Truth,’ Promotes Hates, Calls it ‘Love.’”
The billboard targeting Mormonism, Republican presidential nominee Romney's religion, lambasts - and, Mormons would say, distorts - specific Mormon doctrines: "God is a Space Alien, Baptizes Dead People, Big Money, Big Bigotry”
As a former Mormon, I don't think the Mormon billboard distorts LDS doctrine at all.

God is a space alien

Mormon scripture teaches that God (whose real name is Elohim) is an exalted man who once lived on a world like ours, but worked his way to godhood.  Currently, Elohim lives on a planet near the star Kolob. One day on Elohim's planet equals 1000 earth years.  This explains how God was able to create everything in just six days.  See the Book of Abraham, canonized scripture of the LDS church.

Baptizes dead people

Mormons baptize dead people by proxy.  This is one of the primary functions of LDS temples.  The Mormon Church has come under fire for (and has recently agreed to stop) baptizing Holocaust victims.  As an equal opportunity religion, the church has baptized both Anne Frank and Adolph Hitler.
